It is hosted at Pebble Beach, California which is home to another competition you may have heard of (golf anyone?) Auto China
The Auto China Motor Show is organized in Beijing, China. Ever since it was organized for the first time in 1990, it has come a long way to become one of the most happening and major auto shows in China.
Organized by China National Automotive Industry International Corporation, the Society of Automotive Engineers of China, and the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, it is held once every two years.
It is hosted at the exemplary China International Exhibition Center in Beijing. As China is the largest and fastest-growing market for the automotive industry, all major car manufacturers and startups compete at this show to get a chunk of the market.
International Motor Show, Germany
International Motor Show, also known as the International Automobile Ausstellung (IAA), is the world’s biggest vehicle trade fair. Previously, the show used to be organized only in Frankfurt. However, since 1991, it held every year in Frankfurt or Hannover.
The show grew so large that it had to be organized at two venues. The events organized in the odd-numbered years showcase passenger cars in Frankfurt and those in the even-numbered years focus on commercial vehicles in Hannover.
It is one of the most highly-sought platforms to feature the hot, latest, and advanced vehicles from numerous local and international manufacturers. This has got to be the number one on your bucket list.
North American International Auto Show, Detroit
The North American Auto Show, also called the Detroit Auto Show, is annually held at Cobo Center in Detroit, Michigan. It is one of the largest and most elite American automotive shows. The Detroit Auto Show was previously organized in January every year. However, it is held June since 2020.
Even though this auto festival lasts a whole week, it is open to the public for the last four days. This is so because the first three days are reserved for charity and the media. This auto show is also very important for Detroit and the hosting parties because it generates an astronomical sum of $500 million for the local economy. Putting this number into perspective, one of the most gigantic industries in North America, gambling, sweeps $54 billion dollars into the national economy, thanks to its technological innovations, in tandem with a rich selection of entertaining slots and table games. And while car shows are a niche interest, the auto industry’s share in economic growth in the United States keeps booming.
In addition to featuring the top automotive brands, it also provides visibility to the most innovative startups of the year.
Geneva Auto Show, Switzerland
Held in Geneva, Switzerland and hosted by the Palexpo Convention Center near the Geneva Cointrin International Airport, the Geneva International Motor Show is organized annually in March. Including the 2022 event, the show has been hosted 92 times so far.
This is the first-ever premium auto show from Europe and has a star-studded cast of automotive biggies such as Aston Martin, Audi, Mercedes, Lamborghini, Bentley Ferrari, Nissan, Toyota, Polestar, Mazda, etc. It remains open to the public for about ten days and, if the hosts are to be believed, no other show receives as many innovations and monetary movement during that time of the year.
Paris Motor Show, France
The Paris Auto Show is held once every two years, as the name suggests, in The City of Light. The Paris Motor Show was the first motor show in the world when it was organized by Albert de Dion in 1898. It was hosted annually until 1976, after which the frequency had to be halved.
This show is attended by about a million fans and industry experts every year. Paris Motor Show is hosted by the Paris expo Porte de Versailles, the largest exhibition complex in Europe.
It remains open to the public for ten days, two of those days being reserved for the media and the experts.
Woodward Dream Cruise, Detroit
A classic motor show, Woodward Dream Cruise is nothing like the Paris or Detroit motor shows. You won’t find simple static displays, but you’ll be left in awe of a parade of cars as they cruise down Woodward Avenue instead! It is a unique affair involving all kinds of old, new, vintage, and latest cars, their owners, fans, and manufacturers.
