Most Common Problems with the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E

By Khryz York Pingco

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the United States Department of Transportation has received 20 complaints for the 2021 ford Mustang Mach-E so far. Nine messages from the manufacturers have also been received. Most of them complain about the SUV's weak electrical system.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has compiled a list of the most frequently reported 2021 Ford Mach-E problems.

List of the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-Most E's Frequent Faults

In the NHTSA reports, the electrical system is the most common source of trouble. Forward collision avoidance and visibility are also things that people often complain about. Thirteen problems can be put into these groups. Five of the complaints are about the electrical & propulsion system problems.

People who filed complaints talked about two problems each with lane departure and the powertrain. The NHTSA complaints about the engine, seat belts, service brakes, and vehicle speed control all have the same problem. In the category Unknown or Other, there are also a few random issues.

Challenges with the Ford Mustang Mach-Electrical System

A wide variety of complaints have been received about the electrical system. One comes from a person who bought a brand-new Mach-E and has put only 200 miles on it so far. Drivers have reported that they are confronted by flashing warning lights for things like traction control, stability, and even impending collisions whenever they try to start their vehicles.

Someone else claims that their Mustang Mach-tailgate E's has opened on its own several times. There was once an incident in which the tailgate ran into a closed garage door, resulting in about $1,500 in damage that was submitted as a claim to insurance. When it happened again, a 2-year-old kid was inches away from being hit. This grievance claims that other drivers on a Mach-E forum have also experienced the same issue.

The use of a mobile phone as "a key" to enter and operate a vehicle is the subject of two of the complaints. An example of a complaint is as follows:

We provide a single key FOB with the sale of this car, and the purchaser has the option of activating the Phone As A Key app on their smartphone to get access to the vehicle. Almost every buyer has complained that this particular function has been a constant cause of trouble. It has received a number of updates, including a software upgrade performed by the dealership. This is a major threat to public safety.

This complaint only needs a second key fob provided at no extra charge.

His phone's app option is always crashing, as he notes in his previous concern. They must decide which of the two options they will pursue. All Mach-E clients should be given two key fobs regardless of whether the phone-as-key product is successful or written off as an experiment. They suggest a middle ground and expect drivers to implement a solution that isn't foolproof, and then they claim there is "a serious safety impact"!

Issues with Forward Collision Avoidance in the Ford Mustang Mach-E

Different types of complaints are received in response to forward collision avoidance failures. Such as:

One user complained that "no clear sound or indication when BlueCruise disengages," which can cause undesirable results.

One more claims, "The vehicle does not make a forward collision or pedestrian warning alert sound if any of the occupants are not wearing safety belts and the seat chimes."

The other common gripe is that in extremely cold temperatures, the sensors and other features stop functioning. One owner vents about his harrowing winter driving experiences:

In order to reset the sensors, the Mach-E insists on being restarted. If the driver has to repeatedly stop and start the car while the roads are bad, it puts everyone in the car in danger, in my opinion.

Visibility Issues with the Ford Mustang Mach-E

All three complaints that have come to light regarding recall repairs have to do with a lack of readily available parts. There is no problem with delivery to a specific state because they are all from different parts of the United States (Texas, Florida, and Washington).

They're all moaning about the lack of repairable components. It has been unanimously agreed that Ford has taken too long to complete the necessary maintenance.

From September 14, 2021, the starting date for all three complaints, you'll have to wait four months. No one who complained actually had anything break; they all just responded to recall notices.

A more recent complaint, from February 3rd, 2022, claims that the car's panoramic roof generated excessive wind noise. However, the missing roof panel wasn't a problem, and the recall wasn't mentioned.

Problems with the Ford Mustang Mach-E Recalls

The 2021 Ford Mustang-Mach-E has already been subject to four recalls. These could affect as many as 35,116 automobiles, which is close to the 40,393 vehicles Ford estimates selling through December 2021.

Concerning visibility recalls, two issues arise:

If the windshield is not properly bonded to the front of the vehicle, it could break apart in the event of a collision. The possibility of harm is thereby raised.

Separation of the roof panel from the vehicle due to inadequate bonding of the panoramic glass can be a safety hazard. There may be a higher chance of an accident or injury as a result.

There are 17,692 and 13,544 dwellings at risk. Whether or not the same vehicles have been subject to multiple recalls is unclear. NHTSA received the most recent complaint about visibility on January 21, 2022, but there were still no replacement parts available. And if it doesn't, then what's the big deal?
